Robotic Welder Operator

This position is responsible for operating the robotic welder to weld aluminum components.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Load and position components into welding fixtures
Unload finished assemblies from fixtures when weld process is complete
Monitor robotic welder performance
Perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet required specifications
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required
Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes, portable grinders
Assist with general maintenance of robot
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
Knowledge, skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.
Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Must be able to read a tape measure, identify and measure material.
Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
Ability to use weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances.
Able to maintain data privacy and confidentiality. Maintain confidentiality when dealing with all internal and external customers.
Display flexibility to meet organization’s unique needs and to be productive in an environment with regular interruptions. Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Perform duties in a manner consistent with safety principles, and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards associated with the position and organization.
Complete required trainings mandated for position and for working at Voyager Industries.

Credentials and Experience:
Mechanical ability and proven record of learning new things; 2 years of manufacturing or related work experience; previous robotic experience preferred
